II.2.4) Description of the procurement
NAC Streetscene department require a three-man team to work under direction from the Council’s Arboricultural Officer, in association with a dedicated / appointed contractor team leader to carry out felling, removal/disposal, crown lifting/thinning/cleaning/reduction, girdle/removal of ivy and pruning of trees within land owned or administered within NAC (excluding Arran and the Isle of Cumbrae).
The team will be expected to have a foreman or chargehand within the group to lead and organise the team safely and efficiently. The team will be expected to function as an individual squad but may also be required to work alongside Council’s own team of Arborists.
The team must be available Monday to Friday.
In addition to the above NAC requires the successful company to provide rapid response to sudden tree failures or developing structural hazards consistent with BS3998:2010 sections on risk control and the scheduling of urgent works.
