The HSS requirement supports hydraulic equipment fitted across Royal Navy submarine and surface ship platforms. These systems perform mission-critical and safety-critical functions supporting platform availability, operational effectiveness and Continuous At Sea Deterrence (CASD).

The requirement includes support to:

(a) Hydraulic system Valves, Accumulators and Filters.

(b) Hydraulic system mechanical support services e.g. Mib Winch.

(c) Hydraulic system miscellaneous mechanical spares e.g. gaskets, O-rings.

Support is required for both general hydraulic equipment and designated first-level hydraulic equipment across the in-service fleet.

Engagement process description

The Submarine Delivery Group (SDG), Platform Equipment Delivery Team (PEDT), has an enduring requirement to provide Hydraulics Supply & Support (HSS) services across all UK submarines and selected Royal Navy Surface Ship hydraulic systems. The requirement encompasses the provision of service management, supply support, equipment upkeep, obsolescence management & PDS tasking activities necessary to maintain operational capability and equipment availability. Support is required for both general hydraulic equipment and designated first-level hydraulic equipment across the in-service fleet.

The Authority seeks to assess the commercial market’s capability to tender solutions that meet this future procurement need. This process will enable the Authority to plan activities effectively and may assist in shaping the future procurement strategy and defining the scope of the requirement.
