Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Works contract for the construction of the School of Health Sciences building. The project comprises the new build construction of a science teaching block, which is to have a gross internal floor area of approximately 2,900m2 over two storeys and will include laboratories, classrooms, specialist sports assessment rooms and associated administration rooms. Externally, the existing car park is to be extended and new hard and soft landscaping is to be provided adjacent to the new buildings as part of this contract.

Lodging of appeals
The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point where the information on the award is communicated to tenderers. The notification will provide full information on the award decision. the standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge an award decision before a contract is entered into. The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the Regulations to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
