Abstract

The role of the SI for this brief will be to take the design elements and technical information outlined in this document, make detailed recommendations on the fit-out within each space (including dimensional installation plans and elevations), provide a breakdown of the associated costs and ultimately construct, wire, install, commission, document and deliver training on the use of each studio in accordance with the agreed designs.

There will be a particular focus on; furniture design and construction (including the integration of recording consoles); the associated wiring within this furniture and between it and the existing facility panels and infrastructure; patch bay design and the integration of studio equipment, including audio interfaces. Additionally, there will be need to consider cable management within each control room, between the furniture, facility panels, speakers and through channels in acoustic treatment where appropriate.

Drawings, technical specifications and other confidential University documents will be made available to support the work of the SI as and when required. The SI will not be required to design or install connectivity between spaces, as this installation will already have been completed.
