Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
Canterbury Christ Church University are looking to appoint a single contractor to supply staff that will work in partnership with the University's own Security Caretaking Team to provide a wide range of services to create and maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for all students, staff and visitors across its campus network.
The Security Caretaking Staff must be able to identify and implement initiatives in relation to safety, security and personal well-being for all students, staff and guests of the University promoting a balance between educating, informing and enforcing.
It must be recognised that although this role has a security element, it is in effect a much more comprehensive role that is customer service driven and has a pastoral element; which can be defined as providing guidance, support and encouragement when it comes to addressing the personal needs and welfare of staff and students at the university. Staff are also expected to be able to safely carry out basic and minor maintenance tasks.
The exact number of security staff we require at each location are not yet known and would be established during the implementation period with the successful contractor.
The University employs 55 Security Caretaking Staff who each have 22 days basic holiday provision. Therefore, the University will also require these shifts to be covered. Please note that this is basic holiday cover and this number could rise depending on sickness.
As well as holiday cover, the University requires the successful contractor to provide a minimum response time for any ad hoc, emergency or sick cover within four (4) hours.
Please note that the University also has an additional requirement for licensed activities, Stewarding and Event Cover throughout the year.
The provision of Security Caretaking Services at the University are required 24/7 — 365 regardless of term times and includes Bank / Public Holidays and Christmas.
