Explanation

In the interests of public safety the Council partners with Hampshire Constabulary on a number of initiatives. IT is a key enabler of effective partnering. Hampshire Constabulary utilise software solutions provided by Buchanan Computing Limited already. The Council's transport team relies heavily on Hampshire Constabulary's data. By utilising Buchanan Computing Limited software, the Council will have direct access to real time information provided by Hampshire Constabulary. If real time information is not available this could have a negative impact upon public safety and associated prioritisation given to transport network improvements. Use of another system would delay the transfer of information which would also require manual update at the cost of Officer time and introduce risk of error.
