Disposal of surplus used skips

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking to dispose of a variety of used recycling/waste collection skips of various sizes and conditions that are surplus to its operational requirements.

The skips in question have been subjected to use by the Council and their condition and appearance reflects this, being subject to minor and more major defects. Some of the skips do contain various amounts of waste material (e.g. degraded paper, glass bottles, cans or plastic).

Suppliers are advised to allow adequate time for uploading documents and to dispatch the electronic response well in advance of the closing time to avoid any last minute problems.

3 Conditions for Participation

Minimum standards and qualification required

Please note that the Council will only accept submissions from bidders acting in the course of a business (i.e. bidders who wish to purchase skips for the purposes of a trade, business, craft or profession). If a bidder fails to include their company registration number, their bid will not be considered.

The terms and conditions of the auction are outlined in Appendix 1 of the Registration / Bidding Form document.

Additional Information

The Council expects bidders to inspect items prior to bidding, to satisfy themselves that they are of an acceptable condition to the bidder, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

Opportunities for interested parties to view the skips have been arranged for Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July 2018 at Wern-Ddu Household Waste Recycling Centre, Wern-Ddu Road, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, SA18 2NE.

The opportunity to view the skips will only be available between the hours of 13:00 and 16:00 on the specified dates.

Bidders should complete the Registration Form / Bidding Sheet document attached to this notice.

In the event that an applicant wishes to obtain further information or clarification before submitting their Bid, the Council’s Lead Officer shall endeavour to answer written enquiries which must be received no later than 6 working days (14:00 BST, 12/07/2018) before the final date for the return of the completed submissions.
