Background:
UK Power Networks provides power to approximately a quarter of the UK’s population via its three regulated electricity distribution networks, which are owned by London Power Networks plc, Eastern Power Networks plc and South Eastern Power Networks plc.
We are seeking an experienced provider to work with us to deliver a management apprenticeship programme for over 500 of our leaders. The longer term view is that this would become part of our leadership development offering for all new leaders, as well as providing a coherent development progression.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Like most utilities our management population tends to be made up of people that have progressed their career within the organisation, as such very few have done any kind of formal degree/qualification level leadership training. To address this, we are seeking an experienced RoATP (Register of Apprentice Training Providers) partner to work with us to develop a leadership programme against the management apprenticeship standards available. Through delivering of this programme, we also seek to become the first utility to have all of our leaders achieve ‘chartered manager’ status (via the Chartered Management Institute).
We see this as an opportunity to provide high quality leadership training, tailored to suit our business, delivered against a recognised standard, which maximises the apprenticeship levy.
The provider will need to demonstrate that they are a CMI Strategic Partner, or in the process to become one and be able to deliver the programme in a way that is fully funded by the apprentice levy. Accordingly they will need to be registered on the RoATP in order to access the levy funding.
