Abstract

The Elan Valley Trust (the client), on behalf of the Elan Links Landscape Partnership, wish to appoint a contractor to construct a new woodland mountain bike trail within the Elan Valley. The contractor will be required to: • Construct the new mountain bike trail following the design that has been approved by Powys County Council Planning department – see appendix 1 and 2. • Construction to include approved technical features, see appendix 3, and surfacing. • Identify any trees or vegetation that will require removal to accommodate the trail and work closely with the ecology consultant to limit disturbance to any nesting birds - – See ecology report in appendix 4. • Install route waymark posts. • Liaise with interested parties, including Powys County Council, Natural Resources Wales and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water. • Follow the guidelines or site constraints as specified in planning permission requirements. • Guide the project from stage 5 to stage 7 of the RIBA plan of work. Indicative value: £50,000 + VAT Due to a tight timeline on funding this brief is to be awarded to the successful consultant by 16th August 2019 and must be completed by 15th November 2019.
