II.2.4) Description of the procurement
This procurement process is being carried out to enable the trust to award a contract for the daily cleaning services across its schools. The trust requires an excellent cleaning services partner to ensure that we can deliver a high quality standard of cleaning and hygiene maintenance across all our school sites, within teaching and learning facilities and community areas.
The tender project is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the schools within the trust. The high quality service levels proposed should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff at all schools.
The basis and rationale that the client requires the successful supplier to operate to at all times, is being able to provide school cleaning that is fit for purpose and that the supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification.
The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1.1.2019 to 31.12.2021 and will be fixed price in nature, with the supplier invoicing the client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis. This is a 3+2 years contract whereby the client may, at its discretion, extend the contract for a further 2 years.
It should be noted that the successful supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment as needed; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.
Please be advised that this is a growing multi-academy trust. To that end, any schools already in the trust or any additional schools that may join the trust during the course of the contract, may, at the discretion of the trust, be added to this contract.
