II.2.4) Description of the procurement
WMAT has put significant investment into creating and maintaining World Class facilities within our schools. Weydon has benefited from extensive refurbishment and enjoys an array of excellent learning environments, classrooms and facilities. More recently, Farnham Heath End School has opened a brand new 8 classroom facility with a large library and sports hall. A significant part of the existing estate at Farnham Heath End School was also refurbished to create excellent learning facilities.
As a Trust, we now wish to develop a group-wide approach to our procurement to harness the benefits of being a locally based group of schools. We are looking to appoint a contractor who will help us to both maintain and improve on the cleaning across our secondary schools, working with us innovatively to harness the benefits of regular and periodic cleaning to ensure excellence in our cleaning.
The contract being tendered is for three years in duration from April 2020 to April 2023 and will operate as a fixed price contract.
The academic year is based on a calendar of 195 days. Five days are to be used for staff professional development which means that School will be open to receive students for the legal minimum of 190 days.
The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all cleaning services within the schools, which currently includes daily cleaning, periodic / holiday cleaning, internal and external window cleaning options.
Whilst the MAT prioritises value for money as a key objective of the competitive tender process, the governing body is not obliged to accept the lowest price.
The value of the current annual contract in 2018/19 was:
Weydon School GBP 145 095
Woolmer Hill School GBP 64 347
Farnham Heath End School GBP 86 683
WMAT expects the successful supplier to enable the continued development of cleaning services. The MAT expects the successful Supplier to evidence, through their bid, how they shall support and complement its values and support the principles of the MAT in ensuring world class learning facilities.
As a MAT we are continually seeking ways to improve and develop the ethos and environment for students and staff, to give them the facilities they deserve and need to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. We are looking to appoint a supplier who will work innovatively in partnership with the MAT and individual schools within the MAT.
Please be advised that this contract will be let on a 3-year basis.
