Description of the goods or services required
Swansea University operates an in-house Occupational Health (OH) Service. They look after all University Staff and healthcare students from College of Human and Health Science and Swansea University Medical School and other students requiring health risk assessments/surveillance.
The team are line managed by the Occupational Health Manager and consists of six clinical staff including professional and qualified Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, Occupational Health Mental Health Advisors and Registered General Nurses supported by three administrators. All in-house Clinical staff undertake the provision of guidance, management referrals, medical post-employment assessment and advice, return to work support, fitness to work reviews, immunisations and vaccinations programmes and monitoring employees at risk from exposure to working methods/processes.
Scope
The scope of the requirement is to provide a range of health services to staff and students. These services include:
• Guidance/signposting
• Management referrals/self referrals
• Medical pre/post-employment assessment and advice
• Return to work support
• Fitness to work reviews
• Immunisations and vaccinations programmes
• Monitoring employees at risk from exposure to working methods/processes which may include Hand Arm Vibration Assessments
• Fitness to practice student assessments
These services are to be provided 2 days a month between the hours of 8.30am and 4pm. The services are to be provided at the Occupational Health Department on Singleton Campus. Singleton Park, Swansea SA2 8PP.
The contract will be for an initial 2 year period with two 1 year extension options (2+1+1).
