Description of the goods or services required

The purpose of this tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features. Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices.

To aid the Contractor with planning, enabling and installation, an allowance of up to 16 weeks has been allocated for this contract.

The maximum budget of £110,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

Before tendering bidders are advised to visit the site to ascertain all relevant conditions and means of access and to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the extent and nature of the project.

An itemised quotation is required to identify all costs together with a 3D illustrated layout. The detail of the design choices are to be reflected within the responses to the method statement questions.

Equipment provided for a variety of users and abilities from 4 to 14 years of age.

• Rocking/spinning/bouncing experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities

• Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven.

• Gates wide enough and manageable for wheelchairs and buggies.

• Seating for all to be near play equipment, some with table.

3 Conditions for Participation

Essential Equipment

- Zipwire 30m

- Double inclusive spring seesaw

- Five Seat Hexagonal Swing.

- Basket Swing.

- Double Frame Swing (Three Cradle Seats and One Parent/child Seat)

- 2no Springers

- Inclusive Carousel – Offer inclusive play experience and low maintenance with spinning experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities.

- Flush to floor roundabout with seat and space for wheelchair/buggy

- Multiplay Unit 4-10yrs (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net) – Offering a range of play and challenge experiences. To include minimum of one easy point of access to include an incline or as a combination of features.

- Multiplay Unit 10-14yrs (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net) – Offering a range of play and challenge experiences. To include minimum of one easy point of access to include an incline or as a combination of features.

- Standalone Climbing net

- Trampoline (incorporating suitable drainage)

- Overhead carousel

- Single Point Swing

- Tunnels

- Integrated slide accessing via the enclosed play area and designed off the bank

Non Play Items

- 2no Steel Litter Bins with lids

- 2no Benches to complement the surroundings

- 2no Accessible picnic benches

- 2no self-closing safety gates (yellow)

- Double maintenance gate

- Sleeper or Round-log Timber fencing to enclose new playarea, to be of a minimum of 1.2m high to deter access for dogs. To be durable and low maintenance.

Safety Surfacing

- A durable rubber safety surface that allows adequate drainage, whilst creating ease of access to all equipment. The rubber safety surface is to include a minimum 150mm Type 1 mot sub base.

It is envisaged, that chosen themes will be reflected within the surface finish.

1. Register your company on the eTenderWales portal (this is only required once):

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.
