Description of the goods or services required

The purpose of this tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features. Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices.

The maximum budget of £36,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

Before tendering, bidders are advised to visit the site to ascertain all relevant conditions and means of access and to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the extent and nature of the project.

An itemised quotation is required to identify all costs together with a 3D illustrated layout. The detail of the design choices are to be reflected within the responses to the method statement questions.

Equipment provided for a variety of users and abilities from 4 to 14 years of age.

• Flush to floor roundabout with seat and space for wheelchair/buggy

• Double width slide – wide enough for 2 e.g. Parent/carer and child. - Variety of access to accommodate different needs and abilities.

• Swings to include at least 1 basket type swing as well as a choice of others.

• Low level and high-level sensory experiences – be imaginative e.g. tactile, audio, visual etc.

• Rocking/spinning/bouncing experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities

• Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven.

Access

• Surfacing must be wheelchair/buggy friendly.

• Gates wide enough and manageable for wheelchairs and buggies.

• Seating for all to be near play equipment, some with table.

• Adequate space around and easy access to the equipment.

3 Conditions for Participation

Essential Equipment

New equipment to include but not limited to;

• Single bay flat seat swing.

• Single bay cradle seat swing.

• Multiplay Unit (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net) – Offering a range of play and challenge experiences. To include minimum of one easy point of access to include an incline or as a combination of features.

• Inclusive Carousel – Offer inclusive play experience and low maintenance with spinning experiences to suit varied sizes and abilities.

• Double inclusive See saw.

Non Play Items

• 2no Self-closing gates (yellow).

Safety Surfacing

Rheidol Playarea - The area currently has a raised loose fill (bark) area that can be extended to accommodate any extra play space needed. Any extra bark will be supplied by the client. Extra equipment can also be placed onto the grass area just outside the play zone with grass mat safety surfacing.

Hollett Road Playarea – New grass mat overlay to span all areas to include play spaces and freespace between equipment.

1. Register your company on the eTenderWales portal (this is only required once):

— This will move the ITT into your “My ITTs” page (this is a secure area reserved for your projects only).

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.

— There may be a mixture of online and offline actions for you to perform (there is detailed online help available).
