Description of the goods or services required
The University wishes to appoint a Contractor to design and create a new parklet area to the Dynevor building De La Beche Street, Swansea, SA1 3EU to include the construction of concrete rendered walls, a shaded seating area, installation of tables and benches and planters containing trees, plants, shrubbery etc in order to create a parklet space with visual interest between existing buildings.
Proposed Scope of Works (including identification of elements requiring Contractor design) to include:
• Suitably prepare including groundwork/drainage as necessary, existing grass/soil area and lay new concrete slab paving to match existing laid to falls including all jointing.
• Construct concrete block walls on suitable foundation to suit new layout. Allow to render walls in two coat work to a smooth finish. Include for graffiti finish to one wall and making good all disturbed surfaces to match existing.
• Construct shaded timber seating area including seating within and adjacent to, living wall and Bee hotel.
• Construct covered learning zones as indicated using suitable structure to avoid significant movement / deflection concreted into ground with tensioned fabric canopy. Include for making good disturbed surfaces on completion.
• Create separate vehicle and pedestrian access routes around this access.
• Installation of tables and benches from reclaimed timber.
• Installation of planters in varying sizes and materials housing flowers as tress as indicated on renders.
• Structural Engineering Report.
The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that the materials and workmanship in the contract meet the required standards; the Final Certificate or any certificate issued by the Contract Administrator is not intended to and shall not operate as conclusive evidence that any of the work or materials or goods or workmanship conforms to description or is in accordance with the Contract.
