Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:
Procurement is viewed as a key driver for delivering Bron Afon’s vision of working tirelessly to continue to prove the value of Bron Afon not just to its customers, but also to the wider community and the sustainable development commitment of the Welsh public sector.
Sustainable development means ensuring that our actions contribute in the round to social, economic and environmental well-being now and in the future; improving the environment, building stronger communities, reducing social exclusion and poverty and encouraging the development of the economy.
Please note that both the Required Community Benefits and any Additional Community Benefits submitted within your proposal will form a mandatory contract clause.
5.1 Required Community Benefits
Bron Afon has identified specific Community Benefit commitments required from the Tendering Organisation successful in this procurement process and considers these to be proportionate and relevant to the subject matter of the contract, these are:
• A cash donation by the Contractor to Bron Afon’s Community Grants Scheme of no less than 1.5% of the contract value
• The prompt payment of all sub-contractors and suppliers within the wider supply chain in line with 30 day payment terms
• A commitment to actively consider where possible and appropriate the use or development of local sub-contractors and a supply chain
• A commitment to actively consider and work towards all staff being paid the Real Living Wage as defined by the Living Wage Foundation http://www.livingwage.org.uk
The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
