Overview:

As part of the Transport for Wales’ (TfW) Core Valley Lines (CVL) Project, Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd have been asked to submit a quotation for the project’s haulage requirements.

Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd is seeking to engage the market for proposals which shall include transportation and traffic management of 7x modular substations across various site locations in South Wales.

Brief Scope of Works as follows:

1. Taff’s Well MPTSS

>Delivery Load - Taffs Well Containerised Substation Building (9258mm (L) x 3720mm (W) x 3815mm (H).

>Transport & Escort of Taffs Well Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF15 7RF) site via 5axle semi-trailer.

>Traffic management.

2. Tonteg Feeder Station (FS)

>Delivery Load - Upper Boat Containerised Substation Building (11358mm (L) x 3720mm (W) x 3815mm (H).

>Transport & Escort of Upper Boat Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF37 5UA) site via5 axle semi-trailer.

>Traffic management.

3. Radyr MPTSS

>Delivery Load - Radyr Containerised Substation Building (14338mm (L) x 3700mm (W) x 3815mm (H).

>Transport & Escort of Radyr Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF15 8AB) site via 5 axle semi-trailer.

>Traffic management.

4. Queen St North MPTSS

>Delivery Load - Queen St North Containerised Substation Building (11358mm (L) x 3720mm (W) x 3815mm (H).

>Transport & Escort of Queen St North Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF24 4DS) site via 5 axle semi-trailer.

>Road Closure & Traffic Management plan required for Queen St North module.

5. Pontypridd TSS

>Delivery Load - Pontypridd Containerised Substation Building (9558mm (L) x 3720mm (W) x 3815mm(H).

>Transport & Escort of Pontypridd Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF37 1DU) site via5 axle semi-trailer.

>Road Closure & Traffic Management plan required for Pontypridd Module.

6. Ninian Park FS

>Delivery Load - Canton Depot Containerised Substation Building (10138mm (L) x 3700mm (W) x 3815mm (H).

7. Abercynon TSS

>Transport & Escort of Abercynon Module from FOT Glasgow site to FOT site (CF45 4SY) site via 5axle semi-trailer.

>Traffic management.

Programme dates TBC in line with the Main Programme.

Tender Documents:

Suppliers requested to express an interest shall be subject to meeting Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd pre-qualification criteria for this package of works.

Tender documents shall be issued to those who qualify via Balfour Beatty’s Jaggaer portal. Access will be provided to the suppliers who qualify, this will be communicated via email.

Responses, including any tender queries, shall be via the Jaggaer portal only. Supporting documents will be made available during the tender exercise on Jaggaer only.

Response shall be based on best value (commercial and technical).

Pre-Qualification:

All Suppliers will be required to pass the pre-qualification process which will be conducted offline. The following accreditations/ratings will be required as a minimum before being invited to tender.

Constructionline - Gold Level

D&B check - maximum overall finical risk rating - moderate

Pre-qualification checks will be conducted by Balfour Beatty Rail Ltd and no supplier input is required.
