II.1.4) Short description

SMBC’s crematorium & burial administration contract comes to an end in September 2023. The current service delivery model is split between 2 organisations, with an external contractor managing the administration of the service as well as the operation of Stockport Crematorium, whilst SMBC staff manage the operation of the rest of the cemeteries across the Borough.

As we continually strive to deliver the best service possible for the residents of Stockport and the surrounding areas, we would now like to combine all the aspects of the service in to one single amalgamated delivery model.

We would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in working with Stockport MBC to further develop their service provision and standards to provide appropriate options in fitting and dignified surroundings all of which will dovetail into the SMBC long term plan for sustainability & meet environmental & climate change requirements for the benefit of our community.
