II.2.4) Description of the procurement
English Heritage cares for over 400 historic buildings, monuments and sites - from world-famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, from Roman forts on the edges of the empire to a Cold War bunker. Through these, we bring the story of England to life for over 10 million people each year.
In opening our historic properties to visitors, we need to ensure that we provide the information necessary for them to navigate and understand the properties as part of their overall experience.
The overall presentation of our sites says a great deal about us as an organisation, and we aspire to the highest standards in ensuring that signs are appropriately positioned, in good condition, properly worded and relevant. In order to help visitors understand our sites, interpretative panels and labels are provided at all English Heritage sites. They may be fixed to lecterns, frame-fixed to walls, or supplied as free-standing units.
This procurement is to appoint a contractor for the provision of such signage and associated services.
