II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Activities could include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receiving data from the Company for the study area downloaded from its graphical information system (GIS) (pipes, nodes, valves, address points, consumption, meters, preliminary pipe roughness values) to import into INFOWORKS PRO (WSPro). Subsequently adding distribution system elements including reservoirs, pumping stations and pumps. The Supplier will also receive extended flow data for relevant meters within the study area for the purposes of demand analysis and verification.
Undertaking supply network data validation to confirm accuracy of flow measurement and DMA zoning in the study area.
Designing, planning and undertaking the network field test for the purposes of gaining sufficient data to accurately calibrate the model and verify system operation. Data to be collected includes pressure measurements from temporary logger installation and collection at suitable locations within the network. Flow data will be collected from the Company systems and provided to the Supplier to cover the duration of the field test.
Pressure loggers to be supplied by the Supplier for the duration of the field test. Loggers would be expected to be installed for periods to enable continuous measurement.
Collection and importation of field test data (pressure and flow) into the model and subsequent production of calibrated model by demand analysis, pipe roughness adjustment and setting controls for network elements including valves, pumps, reservoirs and transfers.
Reporting system anomalies (pressure and flow) identified during the calibration process.
Following verification and calibration of the model to the agreed standard and approval from Company personnel, produce working models for average and maximum day demand scenarios.
Maintenance of existing models supplied by the Company, including adding all the elements for new development subsequently attached since the production of the previous model version (pipes, valves, pumping stations, reservoirs, development demand), also guidance for targeted model re-verification and calibration, including field testing and updating from recent flow data.
Producing documentation at various stages of a modelling project as required.
Undertaking model use studies such as, but not limited to, new or proposed development demand impact assessment, mains replacement including assessment for potential mains downsizing, network performance and pressure reduction assessment.
Development of advanced tools and automation processes for water-supply modelling.
