Abstract

Introduction Social Care Wales is developing a pilot programme to support career progression for people working within social care in Wales who are from ethnic minority backgrounds. We know from our workforce data there are fewer people from an ethnic minority background in leadership and management roles. The aim of the programme is to support people working in direct care services (not including social work) to take their first steps into leadership and management. Aims and objectives The programme aims to empower ethnic minority employees in the social care sector by giving them essential skills and resources to advance their careers, promoting diversity and inclusion in leadership roles. The 12-month programme includes sessions to develop leadership skills, coaching sessions and opportunities to shadow senior leaders. The aim of the programme is to: - Support people to see themselves as leaders. - Provide visible pathways to leadership opportunities within Wales. - Understand the principles of good leadership - Opportunities for practical experience of leadership in social care What is required / ‘The Requirements’ This initiative supports the Anti-racist action plan (Wales), which was launched in 2022. Total quantity or scope of tender

Budget

There is a budget of £37,000 (inclusive of any applicable VAT) agreed for this tender.

The Supplier will provide full financial breakdown of the costs associated with the project for consideration through the evaluation process.

Prices must be quoted in pounds sterling and clearly state if VAT will or will not be charged.

Contract duration

The contract will run initially until September 2026 with a possibility of being extended for a further three months, up to a total period of 18 months.
