Abstract

Llanarmon yn Ial Community Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced playground contractor to upgrade Llanarmon yn Ial Playing Field, Llanferres Road, Mold, Denbighshire CH7 4QX. The work involves: i. Designing the layout ii. Providing concept drawings for consultation with local residents iii. Finalising the plans based on feedback from the consultation iv. Applying for any necessary permissions v. Preparatory groundworks and re instatement of grassed areas vi. Supplying and installing the chosen play equipment sited on appropriate safety surfacing vii. Refurbishing existing equipment if appropriate viii. Providing certification confirming compliance with all relevant accessibility, safety standards and regulations The park is located in a rural area and it is envisaged that where possible, quality wooden equipment be installed in metal post shoes. The park will be used by children ranging in age from toddler to mid-teens and the vision is to divide the park into two separate areas with suitable enclosed fencing and gate around the infant area: 1. Infant area to include a minimum in wood: i. 2 x infant swings with cradle seats ii. 2 x springer riders iii. 1 x spinner iv. 1 x seesaw v. 1 x disabled friendly roundabout vi. 1 x possible refurbishment of existing tower 2. Junior and teen area to include a minimum in wood: i. 3 bay swing area comprising 2 x flat junior swings and 1 x basket swing ii. Adventure trail iii. Tower system-climbing frame. iv. Re-surface area around the netball hoop approx.. 6m x 6m. Potential contractors are encouraged to make arrangements with the Clerk to visit the site before responding. Estimated Contract Value: £91,000 –£93,000 The initial cost estimate should be broken down showing the different elements of the work. Please also provide details of availability to start the work, how long it is likely to take, an expected schedule of works and a copy of your public liability insurance.This tender forms part of our selection process to identify a supplier. Detailed designs and the final costs to be developed following the consultation with councillors.
