Abstract

Replacement through Capital investment of x7 aged Autopulse CPR Devices. The Resuscitation team look after the fleet of Autopulse CPR Devices used across the Health Board. The devices are used as part of the essential CPR and resuscitation provision in the UHB. Currently 4 devices have faults, and we have loan devices in place. These could be repaired but the cost of repair is prohibitive given the age of the install base and in proportion to the cost of replacement devices. Further theses costs would be charged to the services where the devices are located creating a cost pressure that is unaffordable. Whilst still supported in the short term inhouse within clinical engineering, the old devices are no longer on sale, and the new devices are easier to use and have better functionality. There is a need to replace all the devices at the same time to ensure that users can operate in emergency situations without having to remember how to operate two different models of device. The devices to be replaced are all Zoll, Autopulses between 7 and 12 years old, Asset numbers, 114078, 118223, 118224, 118225, 118222, 121252 and 121253
