Stainless Steel Fabrication and Installation Support Works for Spreadable Butter Production Facility
Requirement
Gower View Foods Ltd seeks quotations for the provision of stainless-steel fabrication, equipment installation support works, guarding, and associated mechanical installation services required for the integration of a new spreadable butter production facility.
The successful contractor shall provide all labour, materials, fabrication, lifting equipment, installation services, testing, and commissioning support necessary to facilitate the safe and effective installation of the production line.
Scope of Works
1. Equipment Offloading and Positioning
The successful contractor shall:
• Offload delivered equipment from transport vehicles.
• Provide all necessary lifting and handling equipment.
• Move and position equipment within the designated production area.
• Align equipment in accordance with the agreed production line layout.
• Undertake final positioning and adjustment prior to commissioning.
Equipment to be installed includes, but is not limited to:
• Stainless-steel conveyors
• Tote bin lift
• Z-blade blender
• Butter trolley system
• Butter pump
• Vertical butter silo refurbishment and installation
• Spreadable butter processing plant
• Pipework serving the tub filling machine
• Metal detector
• Case packer
• CIP system
• Steam boiler
• Chilled water plant
2. Equipment Integration and Height Modifications
The successful contractor shall:
• Assess equipment interface heights and installation requirements.
• Design and fabricate supports, stands, brackets, and adjustment structures as necessary.
• Modify equipment elevations to ensure continuous product flow throughout the production process.
• Achieve correct alignment between all process equipment and conveyors.
3. Stainless-Steel Transition Fabrication
The scope shall include the design, manufacture, and installation of stainless-steel transition components required to achieve automatic product transfer between equipment.
Fabricated items may include:
• Product transfer chutes.
• Transition hoppers.
• Interface sections.
• Support brackets and mounting structures.
• Ancillary stainless-steel fabrication necessary to connect process equipment.
All transitions shall be designed to:
• Facilitate automatic product flow.
• Minimise product loss and contamination risks.
• Support hygienic cleaning and maintenance.
• Integrate effectively with existing and new equipment.
4. Z-Blade Blender Support Stand
The successful contractor shall:
• Design, manufacture, and install a new stainless-steel box-section support stand for the Z-blade blender.
• Ensure the stand provides adequate structural support and operational stability.
• Design the stand to achieve the required working height and integration with adjacent equipment.
• Construct the stand using food-grade stainless steel suitable for wash-down environments.
5. Safety Guarding
The scope shall include the supply and installation of machinery guarding required to ensure safe operation of the production line.
Guarding shall comprise:
• Stainless-steel box-section framework.
• 25 mm stainless-steel welded mesh infill panels.
• Access doors and removable sections where required for maintenance and cleaning.
• Secure fixing systems.
• Compliance with applicable machinery safety requirements.
The contractor shall:
• Manufacture all guarding.
• Install guarding in its final operating position.
• Ensure access arrangements are practical and safe.
• Coordinate guarding layouts with equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
6. Lifting and Installation Equipment
The successful contractor shall provide all lifting and handling equipment necessary to complete the installation, including:
• Forklift trucks.
• Machinery skates.
• Toe jacks.
• Lifting accessories.
• Any additional equipment required for safe handling and positioning of machinery.
7. Fabrication Standards
All fabricated items shall:
• Be manufactured from food-grade stainless steel.
• Be suitable for use within a dairy and food manufacturing environment.
• Incorporate hygienic design principles.
• Include smooth, cleanable surfaces and appropriate weld finishes.
• Be resistant to routine cleaning and wash-down procedures.
8. Installation and Commissioning Support
The successful contractor shall:
• Install all fabricated components.
• Support equipment integration activities.
• Undertake final adjustments and alignment.
• Assist with commissioning activities where required.
• Rectify any defects identified during installation or commissioning.
9. Health, Safety and Compliance
All works shall comply with:
• Health and Safety at Work legislation.
• Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
• Machinery safety requirements.
• Food industry hygiene standards.
• Applicable British and European standards.
Quotation Requirements
Suppliers shall provide:
• A detailed description of the proposed fabrication and installation works.
• Details of materials and fabrication methods.
• Relevant experience within food manufacturing environments.
• Programme and lead time for completion.
• Total cost including fabrication, labour, lifting equipment, installation, and commissioning support.
• Warranty details for fabricated items and workmanship.
Site Location
Works will be undertaken at Gower View Foods Ltd, Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
