Abstract

Electrical Installation Works for Flavoured Butter Production Facility Requirement Gower View Foods Ltd seeks quotations for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical services associated with the new savoury flavoured butter production facility. The successful contractor shall provide a complete electrical installation including power distribution, equipment supplies, control systems, lighting, emergency lighting, testing, certification, and commissioning. Scope of Works 1. Electrical Power Distribution The successful contractor shall design and install electrical distribution systems to provide power supplies to the following production equipment: • Stainless-steel conveyors • Bowl choppers • Vacuum packing machines • Butter stick packing machine • Depositor • Conveyor with integrated lid press • Metal detectors • Lazy Susan rotary tables The installation shall include: • Supply and installation of a new distribution board. • Circuit design and load assessment. • Power cabling and containment systems. • Final circuit wiring and terminations. • Local isolation points where required. • Earthing and bonding arrangements. • Equipment connections and commissioning support. 2. Odour Extraction System Power and Controls The successful contractor shall provide all electrical works associated with the odour extraction and ventilation system, including: • Power supplies to extraction fans and associated equipment. • Control wiring and interfaces. • Installation of control equipment required for operation of the extraction system. • Integration of controls to ensure safe and reliable operation. • Testing and commissioning of the electrical installation associated with the extraction system. 3. Lighting Installation The successful contractor shall design, supply, and install a lighting system suitable for a food production environment. The lighting installation shall include: • IP56-rated LED non-corrosive luminaires. • Fixtures suitable for food manufacturing and wash-down environments. • Lighting levels appropriate for production, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and operational activities. • Energy-efficient LED technology throughout. 4. Emergency Lighting The contractor shall provide a compliant emergency lighting installation, including: • Integral emergency battery packs within luminaires where required. • Emergency escape route illumination. • Emergency lighting design in accordance with current regulations and British Standards. • Testing and certification of the emergency lighting system. 5. Electrical Design Requirements The successful contractor shall: • Assess connected electrical loads. • Design electrical distribution systems suitable for the operational requirements of the facility. • Coordinate with equipment suppliers to ensure compatibility with equipment requirements. • Ensure sufficient capacity for operational loads and future maintenance access. • Produce distribution schedules and circuit documentation. 6. Requirement

Gower View Foods Ltd seeks quotations for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical services associated with the new savoury flavoured butter production facility.

The successful contractor shall provide a complete electrical installation including power distribution, equipment supplies, control systems, lighting, emergency lighting, testing, certification, and commissioning.

Scope of Works

1. Electrical Power Distribution

The successful contractor shall design and install electrical distribution systems to provide power supplies to the following production equipment:

• Stainless-steel conveyors

• Bowl choppers

• Vacuum packing machines

• Butter stick packing machine

• Depositor

• Conveyor with integrated lid press

• Metal detectors

• Lazy Susan rotary tables

The installation shall include:

• Supply and installation of a new distribution board.

• Circuit design and load assessment.

Tender Clarification Response – Electrical Installation Flavoured Butter Production

Tenderers are deemed to have satisfied themselves as to the extent of the works. Where equipment loadings or final layouts are not available, tenderers shall make reasonable assumptions based on the equipment schedule and clearly identify those assumptions within their quotation.

A pre-contract site survey shall be undertaken by the successful contractor prior to commencement of the works.

Querys:

Electrical drawings/site layout drawings: No electrical drawings are currently available. The successful contractor will be expected to undertake the detailed electrical design.

Equipment layout/production line arrangement: A general production layout has been developed; however, final equipment positions may be subject to minor adjustment during installation.

Single line diagrams/distribution information: Not available at this stage. The contractor should include for the design and installation of a suitable distribution system, including a new distribution board as specified.

Incoming electrical supply and available capacity: Existing electrical supplies are available within the building along with the required capacity.

Equipment loadings/power requirements: Equipment schedules are still being finalised. Suppliers should base their quotation on equipment of the type listed within the specification. Final manufacturer loadings will be made available to the successful contractor prior to installation. Any assumptions should be clearly identified within the quotation.

Lighting design requirements: The requirement is for a compliant LED lighting installation using IP56-rated non-corrosive luminaires with emergency lighting where required. Lighting levels should comply with the relevant British Standards for food production environments.

Control requirements/interfaces: The contractor should allow for standard power and control interfaces with the process equipment. Any specialist control interfaces required by equipment manufacturers will be agreed during the detailed design stage.

Mechanical/M&E coordination drawings: Not currently available. Coordination with other contractors will form part of the installation programme.
Site constraints, access and programme: Normal working access is available. The programme will be agreed with the successful contractor to minimise disruption to production operations.

Tender return requirements: Please submit a fixed-price quotation detailing any assumptions, exclusions, programme, warranty information and lead times, together with confirmation that your proposal complies with the specification.

Site visit: Due to the large interest in this contract site visits will only be possible after award of contract prior to commencement of the works .

Extension and Site Visits
The Buyer has received a number of requests for clarification regarding the scope of the works.
Having considered these requests, the Buyer has decided that no further technical information or design documentation will be issued. Tenderers are required to prepare their quotations based on the information contained within the published tender documentation.
To assist tenderers in understanding the scope of the works and the installation environment, the Buyer will make the site available for pre-tender visits. Tenderers wishing to inspect the proposed installation area may arrange a site visit by prior appointment. Site visits may be booked up to and including 14 July. To allow sufficient time for all interested suppliers to undertake a site visit and finalise their submissions, the tender return deadline has been extended.
The revised tender submission deadline is 12:00 hours on 17 July.
Tenderers are reminded that this is a design-and-install contract. The successful contractor will be responsible for undertaking the detailed electrical design, verifying site conditions, confirming equipment requirements where necessary, and delivering a fully operational, tested and commissioned electrical installation in accordance with the published specification.
Any assumptions made by tenderers should be clearly identified within their submission.
This clarification forms part of the tender documentation and shall be taken into account when preparing quotations.
