Total quantity or scope
Both of AES Kilroot's dual-fired (coal and oil) power generating units (Unit 1 and Unit 2) are currently scheduled to undergo maintenance servicing (minor overhaul) commencing 13th September 2014 for Unit 1 and 1st April 2015 for Unit 2.
AES Kilroot wishes to appoint a contractor to perform this maintenance servicing (minor overhaul) of Units 1 and 2. It is possible that the above dates may change and AES Kilroot reserves the right to require the maintenance services to be carried out at another time.
AES Kilroot currently anticipates that the minor overhaul will include work on turbine and generator as further set out below:

Design description Impulse reaction, axial single flow HP and IP. Double flow LP, single reheat, tandem compound.
Inlet conditions 169 bar, 540C,
Exhaust conditions 50 mbar absolute,
Shaft speed 3000 RPM,
In service date 1981 (U1) / 1982 (U2),
Running Hours 204,885 (U1) / 200,200 (U2),
Overhaul work to include: IP Stop Valves, IP Governor Valves, RH HP Governor Valves, LP Turbine, Turbine Pedestals, Generator Mechanical Work, Electrical Testing, Exciter, Turbine Oil Flush.

The contracting entities reserves the right to require bonds, deposits, guarantees, or other appropriate forms of undertaking or security to secure proper performance of the contract.

Applicants (and consortium members, if any) shall be assessed in accordance with Part 4 of the Utilities Contract regulations 2006, as amended (implementing Title II, Chapter VII, Section 2 of Directive 2004/17) – including but not limited to Regulation 26 thereof – on the basis of information provided in response to the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire documentation (which is available from the contact point referred to above). Completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire Documents are to be submitted to the contracting entity by the date specified in Section IV.3.4).

A Pre-Qualification Questionnaire will be provided through the AES procurement website. Applicants must request a Username and Password for access to the website. The request for a Username and Password should be addressed in writing to the EMEA Buyer at AES steven.rodgers@aes.com, as per the details provided in Section I.1) of this notice.
All information must be completed and returned as instructed in the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and Information Memorandum. The response will be assessed as outlined in the PQQ and Information Memorandum.
Re II.1.5) above, this is an estimated value only. The contracting entity reserves the right to award a contract for a higher or lower amount.
