NHS Merton Clinical Commissioning Group (MCCG) is the local leader of the NHS, responsible for improving the health of the people in Merton, which serves a registered population of approximately 199,700.
Merton Clinical Commissioning Group (MCCG) is seeking to engage a contractor for the provision of a range of clinical, diagnostic, assessment and treatment services to be provided at the Nelson Local Care Centre.
The Nelson Local Care Centre is currently under construction due for completion by spring 2015. This new facility will be a flagship resource for Merton, offering a range of integrated primary and intermediate care resources that are fit for the delivery of more modern evidence based healthcare.
Local Care Centre Objectives.
The overall clinical objectives for the new facility are as follows:
To facilitate the development of integrated services and care pathways that put patient's needs foremost;
To provide a comprehensive range of clinically appropriate services that can be safely and economically delivered in a primary/community setting;
To introduce innovative service provision that embraces technology and new ways of working that facilitate the delivery of high quality, accessible services;
To provide an efficient and effective working environment for all staff that acts as an enabler for multidisciplinary working practices and service integration; and ensure that the configuration of services has a strategic and clinical fit within the wider network of health and social care.
Our overall aim is for patients to experience an improved system of care, avoiding the need for multiple visits, to a one stop shop system, where care is coordinated
between services. This in return will help avoid duplication of effort, streamline the pathway and generally increase both efficiency and the overall quality of care.
The NLCC will offer a range of diagnostics, assessment and treatment services to the residents of Merton CCG. We are currently seeking interest from providers for the following range of services:
— X Ray, Ultrasound, Electrocardiogram. Echocardiogram. Phlebotomy and Endoscopy.
— A range of Specialist Consultation services (former outpatient services).
— Minor surgery services linked to the outpatient activity.
The estimated annual contractual value of the total services range from GBP 5.6 to GBP 7.8 million over 7 years.
4. Strategic Objectives for Partnership.
MCCG's objectives are to engage a contractor who will provide range of services described above. Submissions by service providers for individual services will not be accepted.
The appointed provider may be required to additionally provide:
Pharmacy Support
Minor Surgery services to relevant specialist consultant clinics and MRI diagnostics services
We welcome interest from providers looking to form consortia arrangements.
— Improved Patient Care.
The CCG is looking to encourage innovative solutions to delivering direct access diagnostic services and ensure effective linkages between diagnostics and specialist
consultation services. They are looking to provide a range of specialisms which support best clinical practice and which are delivered by a modern system of care.
