Abstract

This notice refers to the direct award of an interim contract to an incumbent service provider to ensure continuity of essential health services to the local population whilst a new integrated care model is developed during 2018 /2019 ready for procurement in 2019 /2020. The contract is for a period of 12 months with the possibility to extend for a further 12 months. At this point, it is not anticipated that the 12 months extension period will be invoked and the CCG aims to procure a new service, as part of a wider integrated care model, to be operational from April 2019. The contracting authority has therefore assessed that the incumbent provider is the only capable provider at this time. The contracting authority is developing a new model of care within West London which will establish integrated pathways in regard to physical health, social care and mental health, enhanced with voluntary sector involvement to deliver holistic patient care. This interim contract is necessary to enable NHS West London CCG to develop, pilot and validate its specified service requirements. The CCG plans to engage with the market to assist development of its future specification of requirements, with the intention of informing the process and to award substantive contracts for delivery of the new model of care from 2019. Market engagement will commence March 2018.
