Abstract

The supply of Polyelectrolyte (Polymer) chemical products which can be used to separate liquid from solids in the water and waste water treatment process.

All Polymers supplied to Southern Water for use on potable water processing sites shall be compliant with the following Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) regulations:

— Regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016,

— BS:EN 1407:2008,

— BS:EN 1410:2008.

All Polymers supplied shall not include any constituents that may restrict the use in agriculture of the material produced by the process in which the polymer is used.

Polymers shall be supplied to 45+ sites, across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire (including the Isle of Wight) and shall be used to separate liquid from solids in the water and waste water treatment process.

Polymers are used on 70+ different dosing points, including; centrifuges, belt presses, drum thickeners, gravity belt thickeners and chemically aided settlement in both water and waste water treatment.

All Polymers supplied to Southern Water shall also comply with Southern Water's standards, policies and processes at all times.

This agreement will also require the service provider(s) to visit Southern Water sites and provide recommendations to further improve and optimise current performance. A site visit programme (if any) is to be provided at the time of contract award.
