Abstract

The Authority's objective is to contract with a provider for the provision of an in centre haemodialysis service. The facility will also have space allocated for the provision of home haemodialysis training provided by the Authority's staff. The contract basis for the in center dialysis will be charged on a price per treatment.

The renal satellite unit service will operate in a “hub and spoke” model with Dorset County Hospital forming the hub. The unit will provide the capacity to ensure that patients who can safely be dialysed off the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site can be accommodated in a clinically safe environment.

The provider is expected to promote self-care and develop a skill mix that supports the introduction of assistant practitioners.

This contract will be for the provision of:

— 10 years contract term for the provision of In Centre Haemodialysis including the estate, facilities, machines and consumables,

— 5 years contract for the staffing element + 5 (five) x 1 (one) year extension options.

The Authority is using the CTM e-tendering portal to conduct the procurement process ("The e-Tendering Portal"). The e-Tendering Portal can be accessed https://uk.eu-supply.com/nhssw.asp
