II.2.4) Description of the procurement
DVLA wishes to procure polycarbonate card bodies for products it issues. Currently, The Driving Licence (GB); Digital Tachograph Card (UK); Driver Qualification Card (UK); and other chipped (and non-chipped) Polycarbonate card products. DVLA seeks expressions of interest from providers/manufactures of such products. Card volumes are anticipated to exceed 10 000 000 units per annum. Anticipated the contract will be for 5 years with a 2 year extension option. The supplier will enter into contractual arrangements with DVLA and, as such, may be required to work with DVLA's partners, other UK government departments, and preferred integrator(s). The contract may be accessible by UK Central Government Departments and/or Agencies, such as but not limited too:
— The Department for Transport (DfT),
— The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA),
— The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA),
— The Home Office (HO).
Access will be for polycarbonate articles (chipped and non-chipped).
