Abstract

The Sheffield Royce Institute is a 34 000 000 GBP project based in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Sheffield is part of the national Henry Royce Institute (with the main Hub in Manchester) which aims to grow the UK world-leading research and innovation base in advanced materials science, fundamental to all industrial sectors and the national economy. The Sheffield Royce Institute focuses on Advanced Materials Processing and will be delivered through two centres — the Royce Discovery Centre (RDC) and the Royce Translational Centre (RTC). These state-of-the-art facilities will allow materials discovery, materials manufacturing and prototype production and will act as an open access centre of excellence for the UK. As part of the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The University of Sheffield would like to purchase a scanning probe microscope (SPM) capable of performing all major SPM imaging techniques including Contact Mode, Lateral Force Microscopy, Phase imaging, Tapping Mode, Kelvin probe force microscopy, nanoscale electrical measurements, chemical property mapping, nanomechanical properties and scanning in fluids. This procurement is an EU open procedure. The ITT can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University`s e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield The closing date for this tender is 26.2.2019 (12:00 UK time).
