Abstract

Public Health Wales would like to commission a new website for the Public Health Network Cymru (PHNC). This brief outlines the requirements and we would like to invite agencies to submit proposals against the brief and specification, which will be available on Multi Quote tendering portal. The aim of this project is to develop a new PHNC website in order to improve the user experience, enable the Network to grow and develop, and project the Network’s brand effectively. Public Health Network Cymru (PHNC) which is hosted by the Wider Determinants of Health Unit, Public Health Wales, is a network of interest for all those working on public health issues in Wales with quality timely advice, information and support. The Network was established in May 2015 with the consolidation of four topic specific networks. Since then it has developed an offering taken up by over 1,500 members including a monthly e-bulletin, a broad range of events (annual conference, seminars, roadshows, webinars) across a wide array of topics, and a comprehensive website. PHNC’s membership is made up of professionals from health, education, social care, voluntary and private sectors with an interest in public health. PHNC currently has a bilingual website (www.publichealthnetwork.cymru) that was commissioned in 2014 and launched in 2015. The website is comprised of over 100 pages. In the period February 2020 – July 2020 the website received over 30,000 page views from nearly 20,000 users. Following a recent review of the PHNC a number of improvements have been identified including: • Achieving higher levels of member participation • Developing a number of more focussed communities within the broader membership • Continuing to digitalise the current Network model, for example, through greater use of social media, webcasts and webinars. • Improving access to content on the website, particularly relating to events and network media such as e-bulletins, webinars or podcasts.

Description of the contract

Following a recent review of the PHNC a number of improvements have been identified including:

• Achieving higher levels of member participation

• Developing a number of more focussed communities within the broader membership

• Continuing to digitalise the current Network model, for example, through greater use of social media, webcasts and webinars.

• Improving access to content on the website, particularly relating to events and network media such as e-bulletins, webinars or podcasts.
