Abstract

The scheme is to be based on a recovery and rehabilitation focused model, with all the clients receiving a core package of support from a staff group who will be located within the premises 24/7 and will respond to needs as they arise.

Each individual will also have a support/rehabilitation package which is tailored to meet individual needs, goals and outcomes.

Service users can have a range of needs which relate to their severe and enduring Mental Illness and will require support across a 24 hour period. Service users may also have other needs/co existing conditions such as physical or learning disabilities, and/or Autism (not exhaustive).

The service will be delivered 24 hours per day, across 7 days, 365 days per year and there will be 2 staff on duty at all times

Core support to every service user will include one day/block per week of 1:1 support which will focus on learning new skills, exploring new opportunities, seeking voluntary or paid employment and enjoying new experiences.

Other elements of support around each person’s individual timetable will include some 1:1 element to assist with aspects of daily living and to ensure wellbeing.

The provider will also offer a Mental Health Crisis support via referral from the Crisis and Home Treatment Team.

St Helens Council, People’s Services Department, is seeking to appoint an appropriately registered organisation to provide care services at Cross Meadows, St Helens.

The contract is to provide a 24x7 care service at this location for 14 service user and also two crisis bed provisions.

This is for the provision of a specialist supported tenancy service for people with a severe and enduring Mental Illness.
