Building Resilience: Safeguarding our Ecclesiastical Heritage
The Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff is inviting tenders from appropriately qualified, experienced and resourced consultants working within the conservation field for the planned redevelopment of four historic listed places of worship and their surrounding sites in south Wales.
Drawing on the findings of community consultation reports, the appointed conservation accredited architectural team will be responsible for creating regeneration and development plans including:
• Undertaking option appraisals for the 4 sites, developing a site master plan incorporating all buildings / assets and cost plans up to RIBA Stage 2 (concept design) – pros/ cons and viability of each option
• Analysis, including estimated costs and anticipated usage, for each of the most viable options
• Working with the wider project team (including parishioners, parish priests, consultants and Archdiocese of Cardiff staff) and attending technical and project meetings when required
• Creating management and maintenance schedules for 4 x places of worship and 4 x community halls
• Providing access statements and cost-effective solutions for providing equal access to 4 x places of worship and 4 x community halls.
• Undertaking energy audits of 4 x places of worship and 4 x community halls with advice for cost effective ways of improving the environmental performance of these buildings
• Providing guidance for improving green space / biodiversity at the 4 sites.
• 3 x training workshops explaining principles of heritage led regeneration
