Abstract
We are now in the early stages of RIBA Level 3, Design Development, with the
aim of submitting a planning application in early summer. We are planning to proceed
with RIBA Level 4A Technical Design soon after.
The intention is to develop both the building next door, which has been unoccupied
for a long time, and our building. This would allow us to upgrade the venue with both improved facilities and increased capacity, and also plug a gap in the city’s current live music infrastructure through the creation of a new 500 capacity space.
Clwb Ifor Bach (CIB) is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Architect Led Multi-Disciplinary Design Team to work with the CIB Steering Group, in-house team of specialists, client project manager, business consultant and appointed design team to take the project forward following submission of our planning application in early summer 2022 through to RIBA 4a and further RIBA Stages.

Description of the goods or services required

3 Conditions for Participation

Minimum standards and qualification required
The applicant must be able to provide all the requirements of the core design team, or, if unable to do so is bidding on the role of Lead Consultant (LC) and has the complete supply chain (Sub-Consultants) of the LC already in place to deliver all of the requirements. CIB wish to enter into a single contract only with the Lead Consultant.

Revised Construction Costs (RIBA 4 - 6)
We need to inform you that, as a result of the ongoing RIBA Stage 3 work for this project, we've been given an updated consturction cost estimate of £4.9 million including contingency.
Since this is dramatically different to the original figure provided for this tender, primarily due to factors outside our control (Brexit / Pandemic / Ukraine etc) we wanted to give you an opportunity to assess and, if needed, update your fees.
We were due to score the tenders today but will delay this until early next week to give you an opportunity to revise your tender, if required.
Apologies for this but as you can imagine we did not expect RIBA 3 to return such an increase on the expected cost, and as such a knock on impact on the professional fees projected for RIBA 4 - 6.
