Abstract

The School of Engineering, within the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering at Newcastle University, requires a hydraulic loading system for a wide range of research and teaching activities to be undertaken in their Heavy Structure Laboratory. The system will be capable of applying static, cyclic and dynamic loads to steel timber and concrete members.

We have an international reputation in modelling and simulation, working in both application and analysis of problems, and in the development of numerical methods and constitutive models. The new system will enable continued excellence of research and teaching with respect to structural textiles and polymeric composites, structural optimisation and reliability seismic engineering and extreme loadings.

The scope of this contract is for the supply, delivery and installation and commissioning of the equipment detailed in the ITT to the University, with after-sales support and 12 months warranty and maintenance.
