Abstract

The Reproductive Biology Group within the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Science at Swansea University have purchased a Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) machine to complement their current equipment and expand the capabilities of the group. Procurement of these instruments will support academic and industrial collaborations within the ReNeuron, IgInnovations and Swansea University development of Exosomes towards the clinical utility (RISE) project which aims to develop new therapeutics using exosomes. The RISE project is a collaboration between Swansea University, ReNeuron and Ig Innovations, that will involve characterising and purifying exosomes to better understand exosomes properties that could be useful when designing therapeutic exosomes for the treatment of cancer patients. The Reproductive Biology group have completed a formal open process tender to purchase a NTA machine, which will need to have fluorescent capabilities and be able to quantify size and concentration of a wide range of nanoparticles.
