Abstract

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, Children Services is inviting suitably qualified organisations to attend a market engagement to hear about opportunities that exist in the Borough to develop Supported and Residential Accommodation for Children and Young people, through the utilisation of two buildings identified by the Local Authority. We are looking at innovation and creative ways the building could be utilised for children and young people, in particular transitioning from Residential to Supported Accommodation.Supported Accommodation is now Regulated by Ofsted, as is Residential Accommodation. Providers will need to ensure that they have the necessary, skills, understanding and infrastructure to support the development of this provision. In return Dudley will support and use where deemed appropriate the provision for the benefit of their children and young people and extend this opportunity to other neighbouring authorities to utilise. The event will provide interested parties the opportunity to hear about the availability of premises. The event will give participants an overview:• Buildings that are available, the makeup and location.• Dudley Council’s Vision for Childrens Services• Overview of the current Market, particular with a focus locally and regional activity around this area• Opportunities within the BoroughThe virtual event will give interested providers the opportunity to seeking information on the procurement activity relating to this area. The market engagement event sessions will be held via MS Team between 12.00pm – 1.30pm 16th April 2024 to provide further information about the tendering opportunity. To ensure you receive a link to this event, please confirm attendance by noon on 12thth April 2024 by emailing commissioning.cs@dudley.gov.uk quoting in the subject header 'Provider Market engagement Event'. Please confirm the name of your organisation and the individual's contact details for each person attending; note a maximum of three representatives from each organisation is permitted. The information gathered from this exercise will help shape future proposals including any potential tendering process and associated service specification. For the avoidance of doubt, this stage of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the Council is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process.Participation or non-participation in the pre-procurement market engagement process shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of the pre-procurement process shall place any supplier at an advantage in a potential procurement process. Participation in the pre-procurement market engagement procurement process will be at each supplier's own cost. No expense in responding to this process will be reimbursed by the Council. This is not a call for competition.
