Abstract

Brymbo & Tanyfron Regeneration Trust seeks to procure a single contract with a specialist adult community learning organisation to help deliver our Multiply funded Project – Numbers in Nature. The Multiply programme in Wales is part of the UK Governments Shared Prosperity Fund, designed to support adults improve their numeracy skills in everyday life. The Numbers in Nature project will aim to achieve this through a range of learning opportunities targeted at adults and families in Wrexham, particularly in the Urban Villages surrounding Brymbo. Courses are aimed at interventions that will improve numeracy levels through learning in nature and functional everyday skills. The project also aims to have a longer-term effect by building in opportunities for volunteering and sustainable activities though the creation of usable green spaces in the community. Planned activities may include a range of interventions such as; Bushcraft & Brews, Gardening Club, Bike Repair, Cooking Club, Number & Play Sessions, Heritage Crafts, Maths Homework Club, Family Learning Activities over the school holidays and British Sign Language numeracy sessions. To meet the challenge the adult community learning specialist will need to be able to demonstrate an innovative approach to the design and delivery of activities and have a track record in being able to engage ‘hard to reach’ adults and families.
