This framework is to deliver nutrient analysis for soil and organic manures as well as mineral analysis for livestock feeds and forage. This information will help provide farmers and the Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) Partnership with data and information required for soil nutrient management planning, soil improvement and livestock feed planning. This will enable advisers contracted on behalf of CSF, and Natural England Catchment Sensitive Farming Officers (CSFO), to have the evidence to influence farmers of the benefits of soil testing, good soil nutrient management, and mineral analysis for feeds and forage. These results will be an advice and training tool for CSF to inspire farmers to undertake voluntary action to help improve water and air quality, where agriculture has been identified as part of the issue. The analysis will enable farmers to use crop and livestock nutrients more efficiently, improve soil organic matter and soil health to reduce the risk of nutrient and soil run-off and to improve business efficiency.
