II.1.4) Short description
The Mining Remediation Authority seeks a suitably qualified and experienced partner who can provide a 24/7 Hazard Line and Emergency Call Out service to satisfy our legal obligations toward protecting public safety.
The Hazard Line must be operated at all times. The Emergency Call Out must be able to deploy a suitably experienced and trained person to surface hazards relating to historic mining within 4 hours of receiving a call should no one from the Mining Remediation Authority be available within that time frame.
The awarded contract will be let for 3 years with an optional 2.

This work will primarily be centred on the coal fields of Great Britain.
II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Mining Remediation Authority has a dedicated emergency telephone line, (0800 288 4242), which at present is answered 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by our existing service provider. After the service provider has taken a new call they will contact the authority immediately with details of the new incident that has occurred.
The Service Provider will also provide sufficient numbers of Competent Persons to respond to and visit Surface Hazards, within the compulsory coalfield areas within 4 hours of the Surface Hazard being reported to the Service Provider.
