UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) require (potentially) a number of Suppliers to Design, Supply, Install and Recycle furniture mainly for the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Oxfordshire. The aim of this Prior Information Notice is to gain an understanding of the supplier market that can support both business as usual (BAU) orders and project works.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The aim of this procurement is to find a supplier/suppliers who will support both business as usual (BAU) orders and project works mainly at our Site at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Oxfordshire but also providing assistance, when needed at our smaller site, The STFC Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire (SO20 6BJ). The estimated value for this requirement is £5,000,000 excluding VAT for a possible 8 year term however this is subject to change once we have completed the Supplier Engagement Sessions. The disciplines required by STFC to be covered by this Framework include: • Space Planning (layout) • Supply of furniture • Installing furniture - delivery and placement only (with no construction) • Move Management and Re-Configuration • Removal & recycling of old furniture. BAU orders are more frequent, can sometimes require weekly installs or just delivery of furniture. The common type of furniture is desking, DSE chairs, meeting room furniture and on occasions have a requirement for 1 or 2 person zoom pods. In some of our office spaces we have recently installed meeting pods. Further details of the scope and sites will be provided at the Supplier Engagement Sessions and within the Invitation to Tender pack once published. UKRI-STFC will be holding two Supplier Engagement Sessions at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory site on the following dates: Monday 3rd March and Tuesday 4th March 2025. The sessions will last no more than 2.5 hours and a maximum of two attendees from each supplier organisation to register for the sessions (Arrival time to be 9:30am with an approximate start time of 10:00am). Suppliers will have the opportunity to confirm which Engagement Session they will be able to attend (the same information shall be presented on each day). To book onto the Supplier Engagement Session, please submit the names, email addresses, contact phone numbers, vehicle registrations and the session you would like to book onto to the following email address: STFCprocurement@ukri.org, with the subject in the email being UKRI-4609 Furniture (Design, Supply, Install and Recycle) Framework- EOI. Please confirm your attendance no later than 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 26th February. You should bring photo ID with you to RAL otherwise you may not be allowed on site. Please be aware that when the tender goes live later on in the year this will be under the new Procurement Act 2023 Rules and Regulations.
