Scottish Water is a publicly owned organisation, answerable to the Scottish Government and the people of Scotland. Our job is to bring clear, fresh drinking water to the people of Scotland’s taps and to remove and dispose of waste. We supply 1.3 billion litres of drinking water per day and remove around 842 million litres of waste water daily, treating it carefully before returning it to the environment. We were formed in 2002 and currently employ around 4,000 people, with offices across the length and breadth of Scotland. Our Vision is that “we are trusted to care for the water on which Scotland depends”.

Scottish Waters Learning and Development (L&D) team will be responsible for the delivery and quality of any learning interventions delivered through our L&D contracts. Typically the learning team schedule around 14000 learning events annually at locations all across Scotland using Scottish Water’s learning management and booking system (Cornerstone on Demand). Scottish Water service requirements in relation to the provision of health & safety, technical, core IT and project management training

Our providers need to be able to deliver learning solutions across all of Scottish Waters geographical locations which include the islands of Scotland.

Scottish Water requires suitable provider(s) to provide a cost effective solution that meets all Scottish Water service requirements in relation to the provision of health & safety, technical, core IT and project management training. Key to the success of Scottish Water is the effective training of staff to achieve maximum performance.

Each contract requires the training provider/s to be self – sufficient in the provision of all training delivery equipment, stationery, training aids and be able to support themselves at Scottish Waters main and remote locations.

Events that require specialised equipment i.e. breathing apparatus, harnesses, winches, tripods, small tools, plant, lifting equipment, street works equipment, training rigs and mobile trailers will be the responsibility of the training provider, Scottish Water will assist as required.

A cluster of generic event titles is attached which show the main areas of the contract/s some of which are Scottish Water developed events, this material will be available to successful training provider/s, they are marked with a comments tab.

The successful training providers will require to demonstrate an innovative approach to the delivery of the events, excessive use of power point is unacceptable and the use of new technology where appropriate will be expected.

Training providers will require to provide SW Learning & Development team with Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual management information and ad hoc reports as required in SW format and integrate with SW systems where appropriate.

Scottish Water learning and development process is ISO9001 accredited and will require successful providers to comply with this processes to maintain the quality and accuracy of the events.
