Explanation
Direct Award to the existing supplier of the reagents required to operate these instruments. The instruments and reagents have all undergone extensive validation processes within the laboratory, many of which are UKAS accredited. Purchase of alternative instruments & reagents would incur significant costs and involve delay to testing as additional extensive validation work would need to be undertaken before use.
