Abstract

Monmouthshire County Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from training providers, apprenticeship partners, FE institutions, and specialist skills organisations interested in delivering qualifications, vocational training, and apprenticeships as part of the development of a new Monmouthshire Multi Skills Centre/skills hubs.This notice forms part of early market engagement to assess the market’s appetite and capacity to support the creation of a high quality, industry aligned Skills Centre/hubs in Monmouthshire. Two potential locations to develop a centre have been identified: Innovation House Magor and Castlegate Business Park Caldicot; but we are open to suggestions for other locations.Vocational pathways, apprenticeships, and skills development opportunities for:- young people (including junior apprenticeships 14–16 and post 16)- adults seeking upskilling or reskilling- jobseekers- local employers requiring workforce development and CPDWe have identified particular gaps in the opportunities to develop skills in STEM, construction, digital, green skills and engineering. We would be open to responses that met these gaps; but we would be open to an evidence-based response that sought to meet other skill gaps., Capital funding has been secured to redevelop potential premises into a modern, industry standard learning facility.Interested organisations are asked to provide a package of information as per the Engagement description detailed below.This is not a tender process; EOIs are for market testing and planning purposes.

Engagement process description

Interested organisations are asked to provide a package on the following:

- Organisation overview – type of provider, specialisms, accreditation status.

- Summary of relevant training provision – qualifications, pathways, apprenticeships delivered.

- Experience of working in technical or vocational facilities.

- Interest in delivering in Monmouthshire

- Preferred delivery model (onsite / hybrid / blended).

- Any facility or equipment requirements.

- Capacity to support young people (incl. 14–16 junior apprenticeships).

- Capacity to support adult learners / upskilling / community learning.

- Employer engagement experience.

- Any indicative information on pricing or funding routes (non binding).

- Currently have a contract or subcontract with Medr Welsh Government

Following the Engagement deadline the team will assess the packages received and then invite interested providers to discuss the opportunity in 1-2-1 supplier meetings.
