Abstract

The Edge Hill Technology Hub will create new and refurbished, high quality space for teaching, learning, student employability, enterprise and knowledge exchange activities.

The LEP funded facility will support expansion in Digital Creative and Food Science (Biotechnology), to include: bioinformatics, product design and prototyping. It will also include a Knowledge Exchange, a CAVE, a Food Science facility and an Enterprise Hatchery.

The target beneficiaries include undergraduates, post graduates and local businesses, with a particular commitment to widen participation into Higher Education and graduate careers.

The Technology Hub will support planned growth in undergraduate student numbers registered, reaching 600 per annum by 2020.

This tender is for supply and installation of a CAVE system within the ground floor of the Technology Hub, to include on-site training and a support contract.

The outline requirements are as follows:

— 4 sided display (3 walls and floor);

— Solid Cast Acrylic walls with wide angle, high contrast coating;

— 4 x high resolution, high output projectors with short throw lenses;

— Mirror and rig for each projector;

— Tracking system with wireless hand controller;

— Touch panel control system;

— 5,1 Audio system;

— Master workstation and 4 cluster nodes (1 per projector);

— Virtual reality software for master and cluster nodes;

— On-site training course in VR software;

— 3D glasses;

— Design, delivery, and installation of system;

— On-site hardware and software support.
