This contract is for the provision of Occupational Health services to the Metropolitan Police Service for an initial six year term, with an option to extend for a further three year period. During the transition phase, records transfer activity will be undertaken by a specialist third party. After service commencement, certain service lines could be subcontracted where additional capacity is required to respond to major incidents. The electronic case management platform will be developed by a specialist third party.

The Metropolitan Police Service incorporated a standstill period at the point information about the actual award of the contract was communicated to bidders. That notification provided full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which was for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provided time for unsuccessful bidders to challenge the award decision before the contract was entered into. The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI2006 No 5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by breach of the rules to take action in the High Court.
