Description of the works Phase 1: A496 Rhyd y Sarn Road Safety Scheme Road 1. Site Clearance 2. Kerbing 3. Road Markings / Signs 4. High friction Surfacing 5. Cutting back concrete and steel fencing 6. Demobilisation The Contractor is required to visit the site to ascertain remaining works in conjunction with these works information Phase 2: A496 Pont Tyn Cefn Parapets and Safety Barrier Renewal 1. Install safety handrail to work over the river. 2. Remove existing parapets and dispose to tip. 3. Patch repair the existing concrete plinth. 4. Remove the existing Full Height Anchors both sides to the existing parapet and dispose to tip. 5. Install new anchors and Carry out tensile load test on the anchorage as stated in appendix 1/5. 6. Install the new N2 parapet as shown on drawing 5379/GA/02. 7. Remove the existing safety barrier on both sides of the parapet and dispose to tip. 8. Install new N2 W2 safety barrier as shown on drawing 5379/GA/02. 9. Carry out push pull test as stated in appendix 1/5. 10. Install the P4 terminals as shown on drawing 5379/GA/02. 11. Take down the safety handrail and move traffic management to the opposite lane. 12. Repeat the process for the opposite lane.
