Ipswich Borough Council provides a range of services to the residents of Ipswich from refuse collection to sport and leisure facilities. The Council delivers its housing repairs service via an in-house team, with approximately 22 500 day to day repairs and 2 600 out of hours emergency repairs completed over a 12-month period. As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver an outstanding level of service. This procurement will award a contract for, for external contractors in support of our in-house teams in the delivery of repairs, voids and improvement works this will be primarily to:
— support the Council’s direct delivery teams during busier times,
— deliver larger repair, improvement works and void works where the council does not have sufficient capacity or outsourcing of the work provides better value for money,
— provide greater flexibility to meet customer demand for responsive repairs and refurbish empty properties as quickly as possible.
